Galway Chamber Business Awards in association with Shannon Group plc announce Shortlist of Finalists & Public Voting Option for 2019
A diverse mix of long-established businesses and relative newcomers feature on the shortlist of finalists for the 2019 Galway Chamber Awards, in association with Shannon Group plc.
This year’s awards, based on the theme “Imeall an Iarthair, Ag Obair As Lámha a Chéile” or “Western Edge, Working Together”, attracted a record number of entries across all sectors, leaving the judging panel with a difficult selection task.
Now, however, the full shortlist for all seven categories has been chosen, with the winners to be announced at a gala awards ceremony on Friday, November 29th. In an exciting new development this year, the public will get to vote on the winner of one of the categories – ‘Best Marketing – including digital and social media’. The three nominees are Connaught Hotel, HERO Recruitment and BV Commercial and the public can vote by simply clicking on the link on the www.galwaychamber.com and home page.
Now in its 16th year, the Galway Chamber Business Awards has established itself as the premier awards event of the year for businesses across the region. This has led to a very competitive field of entrants, according to Galway Chamber CEO Kenny Deery.
“The level of interest this year is testament to the prestige of the event and the desire of businesses to be recognised with one of our awards. But more than anything it is a tribute to the strength and diversity of the business community in Galway and the quality of service delivered by our members across the board,” he said.
“This year’s theme – “Western Edge, Working Together” – captures the spirit and community feel of businesses in Galway and their determination to make their enterprises succeed locally, nationally and internationally by working together,” added Kenny.
The winners of each category, along with ‘Overall Business of the Year Award 2019’ and the ‘President’s Award’, will be announced at the Galway Chamber Gala Ball on Friday 29th November in the Galmont Hotel & Spa. The ‘President’s Award’, chosen by the President of Galway Chamber in consultation with his officer board, will be presented to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the business life of Galway, while the ‘Overall Business of the Year’ will honour one of the seven category winners.
